Abdul Majid Yakubu known by hiss stage name Blind Shatta is a Ghanaian hiplife artist born on 25th May, 1993 to Yakubu Saiba and Asanatu Yakubu.
Abdul Majid Yakubu was born in Asante Akyem Agogo and he started his basic school education in APCE Demonstration and lost his sight when he was in JHS 2 [age 15]. This happened when he was playing football with his friends. He later learned the brail to be admitted in Josco Demonstration JHS {Bechem}. He continued his SHS education at Wenchi Methodist SHS and his dream to become a teacher came through when he got admission into Wesley College of Education {Kumasi} to pursue BED in Social Studies and Religious And Moral Education.
He had the name Blind Shatta from his friends after a massive performance they watched him during SRC week celebration on campus{Wesley College}. They were very astonished to watch a blind who can command, control and shake the stage like the dancehall king Shatta Wale. So Dave Hammer of Hello Fm showed interest in the story and invited him to have an interview with him on Dave Hammer TV which exposed him to all Ghanaians especially the Shatta Movement fans. In 2019, he got the opportunity to represent live with the Kumasi SM fans at Shatta Wale Wonderboy album launch. All these made Shatta Wale to show love for the guy to open his door for him to meet him when he came for live interview on Kessben TV in Kumasi.
Blind Shatta released his first track on 2019 titled {show me love} featuring Kobby Brainy on it. In 2020, he also hit the street with another banger titled {happy yourself} which attracted the management of Aduba Production to sign him under their production on 19th September, 2020.
The management of Aduba Production {Aduba GH} worked hard to get Fameye on featuring with Blind Shatta titled }ebefa} which was the first track to be recorded under his new record label in 2021. In the same year, the second project was released titled {adwuma no asi} which Blind Shatta featured Kobby Brainy and Braizay sorfa on it. People got to know Blind Shatta very well after he released his dope highlife song featuring chochomucho hit maker Bless on it titled {haters}.
In March 2021, MET Music Ghana heard Blind Shatta tracks trending in the industry, and they nominated two of his tracks {ebefa} under best collaboration of the year and {adwuma no asi} under best video and Aduba Production under best producer of the year. At the end, Blind Shatta and his manager worn the best collaboration and best producer of the year awards.
